Portland has hosted a variety of programs: health, live talk shows, home improvement, infomercials, magazine travel, job recruitment, and business.  Her hosting work has been featured on: Veria, the Comcast Network, Discovery Home & Leisure, PBS, New England Cable News, Vermont Public Television, Oxygen, WZMY-TV, Wisdom Television, and more.

She's currently the host of What’s the Alternative?, a national show about natural health and healing that she created for Veria (DISH, Verizon FiOS and Frontier).  She’s interviewed wellness leaders like Deepak Chopra, stress management expert and humorist Loretta LaRoche, New York Times best-selling author Dr. Mark Hyman, infertility expert Ali Domar, parenting expert Mimi Doe, Network Spinal Analysis founder Donald Epstein, herbalist Rosemary Gladstar, trauma researcher Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, psychiatrist and ADD expert Dr. Edward Hallowell, and labyrinth expert Rev.
